Privacy Policy

This is the Personal Data Protection Policy of Global XpressCover Sdn Bhd (“Global XpressCover”) (“Policy”). In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 of the Laws of Malaysia (the “PDPA”), this Policy sets out how Global XpressCover manages, collects, uses and discloses Personal Data (as defined below) belonging to you. This Policy also sets out the purposes for which Global XpressCover collects, uses and discloses such Personal Data. You must only submit to us, our authorised agent or the Global XpressCover’s platform, information which is accurate and not misleading and you must keep it up to date and inform us of changes (more information below). We reserve the right to request for documentation to verify the information provided by you.

Your consent is important

When you request information or sign up for our services, you may be required to provide Global XpressCover with your personal data. In doing so, you consent to its use by Global XpressCover in accordance with this Privacy Notice.

Global XpressCover may, from time to time, contact you by email, over the phone or in person, to request for additional information that is reasonably required to facilitate the parcel claim process. You have the choice, at any time, not to provide your personal data or to revoke your consent to Global XpressCover processing of your personal data. However, failure to provide such personal data/sensitive personal data or revocation of your consent to process personal data/sensitive personal data provided may result in Global XpressCover being unable to provide you with effective and continuous products and services.

What types of personal data do we collect?

Personal data refers to any information that relates directly or indirectly to an individual, who is identified or identifiable from that information or from that and other information in the possession of Global XpressCover, that has been or may have been collected, stored, used and processed by Global XpressCover from time to time.

The types of personal data we collect may include, but are not limited to your name, address, contact details, your parcel information such as consignment note number, parcel photo, your identity card or passport, and your signature.

The personal data we collect can be either obligatory or voluntary. Obligatory personal data are those that we require in order to process your claim. If you do not provide us with obligatory personal data, we would not be able to process your claim. Voluntary personal data are those that are not mandatory in order for us to process your claim. If you do not provide us with voluntary personal data, we will still process your claim. Obligatory and voluntary personal data differ for each claim and will be indicated in the platform.

What is the purpose of processing your personal data?

The personal information we collect from you will be used, or shared with third parties (including related insurance companies and third party insurance adjusters) for the following purposes:

  1. To assess your claim submission;
  2. Managing the administrative and operations of parcel claim and complying with internal policies and procedures;
  3. Tracking and analytics of your parcel claim;
  4. Conducting research and analytics to enable us to better understand your claim, and to improve our claim standard procedure and your claim experience at our respective touchpoints;
  5. For internal functions such as evaluating the effectiveness of marketing, market research, statistical analysis and modelling, reporting, audit and risk management, legal and regulatory obligations, prevent fraud and any other purposes relating to company's operations.

How do we protect your data?

The security of your personal data is our priority. Global XpressCover takes all physical, technical and organizational measures needed to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data. If we disclose any of your personal data to our authorised third party agencies, we will require them to appropriately safeguard the personal data provided to them.

Governing Law

Global XpressCover's Personal Data Protection Policy is governed by the laws of Malaysia and any dispute relating to this Policy shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

Global XpressCover's Right

You acknowledge and agree that GobalXpressCover has the right to disclose your personal information to any legal, regulatory, governmental, tax, law enforcement or other authorities or the relevant right owners, if Global XpressCover has reasonable grounds to believe that disclosure of your personal information is necessary for the purpose of meeting any obligations, requirements or arrangements, whether voluntary or mandatory, as a result of cooperating with an order, an investigation and/or a request of any nature by such parties. To the extent permissible by applicable law, you agree not to take any action and/or waive your rights to take any action against Global XpressCover for the disclosure of your personal information in these circumstances.
